New Speedster Replica
The "DELUXE
PRE-ASSEMBLED BODY PACKAGE" program was developed
to allow the automotive enthusiast
to purchase a package
that
does not require an inordinate amount of specialized skills
nor does it require the involvement
of expensive
professional
assistance such as painting,
wiring, and upholstery.
This
package includes ALL of the following:
1. The
complete hand-laid fiberglass body, painted with
Sikkens base coat/ clear coat to
automotive standards. The
doors, front hood with support rod, and
rear deck lid with support rod are hinged,
latched, weather stripped and fully adjusted.
2. The
body comes pre-mounted to a 3" tubular steel frame
which is an integral part of the
body/chassis system. It
includes a
fully-adjustable front axle beam with
torsion
bars
installed and rear suspension componentry
complete to the spring plate assemblies. (Additional
front and rear suspension componentry
is
required.)
Triangulated steel tubing
is an extremely strong method of
construction and gives the Beck
Speedster a far stiffer platform than
any of the "belly pan"
mounted
vehicles.
This results in superior handling and more
accurate and consistent door gap.
3. The
windshield
wiper system are completely installed
and wired. You are required to install
the wiper arms and blades,
which are included.
4.
All wiring is installed. The gauges and
switches are
mounted. The headlights
are included. The
steering column with turn
signal, emergency flasher and wiper switch is
installed. A padded
steering wheel is included. The
convertible top and steel scissor
mechanism is completely assembled
and operational.
All associated hardware has been pre-installed on
the body.
A pair of side curtains is also included.
5. The
seats and door panels come upholstered and
installed. All carpeting is
complete and includes the firewall,
floors and front storage area.
6. The
shift lever and emergency brake handle are
installed.
7. The
rearview mirror included. No side view mirrors.
8. Gas
tank, gas cap, and brake reservoir are
installed
under the front hood.
9. A
complete exhaust system is included. (no
heater
boxes)
10. Five
Porsche-style chrome road wheels and four Beck
Speedster chrome hub caps are included.
As
you can see, this "DELUXE PRE-ASSEMBLED BODY PACKAGE" is
extremely
complete.
The builder need only supply, various minor parts, the
engine of his choosing, a transaxle and
front suspension, some basic
mechanical ability, and approximately
15 to 20 hours of assembly time.

The speedster body is painstakingly crafted in hand-laid
fiberglass to ensure the highest
quality lamination with no
cracks or blisters. This process
guarantees high strength and
light weight with a smooth consistent
finish. Our moulding
specialists were trained at an aircraft
factory specialising
in strong, lightweight fiberglass work.
Sheets of cloth are
hand-laid into
moulds, resin is brushed on and then rolled out
to remove all the air. The end result is a thin, VERY
strong, light body. Other faster and
cheaper methods used by
competitors involve spraying a compound
into a mould
producing a thick, heavy body that has
a possibility of
blistering later.
The chassis is carefully constructed with aviation precision of
3 inch high tensile 1/8th thick "DOM" tubular steel and
powder coated for maximum
durability in all climates. The chassis
components are formed on
a jig at our factory. They completed
chassis is sent to an aircraft
factory, dipped in a
"hot tank" of oil for cleaning. Residual
oil is removed by a solvent dip and the
clean chassis powder coated. This ensures
NO rust and a long-lasting nice finish. The chassis has
been tested and found to be %70 more rigid than the original
Porsche. We are very pleased with this result. The interior is
constructed of the finest leather we can buy. We make and fit
everything such as seats, door panels, map
pockets in the doors, dash and gauge
cluster, steering wheel, shifter and
E-brake cover.
The seat belts are a FULL retractable shoulder harness type attached
to the chassis of the car. Since we located the battery
in the back of the car we were able to provide a spare
tire in the front where it belongs.
The top has a FULL frame so you can put it up without any problems;
competitor's tops are
often missing the linkage from the
front to the rear.
The doors have the correct style locks that work from the inside
handle or a knob located inside the top of the door.
